Description

The logical error of concentrating on the people or things that "survived" some process and inadvertently overlooking those that did not because of their lack of visibility.

Example 1:

Studying only successful companies to understand keys to success, while ignoring the vast number of failed companies that might have followed similar strategies, leading to flawed conclusions.

Example 2:

Studying only successful companies to determine best practices can be misleading, as it ignores the practices of failed companies, some ofwhich may have followed similar strategies.
