Description

The tendency of a person to recall the first and last items in a series best, and the middle items worst.

Example 1:

When evaluating a series of job candidates, interviewers might better remember the first few and the last few candidates interviewed, compared to those in the middle.

Example 2:

When presenting a list of investment options to a client, those listed first and last are more likely to be considered or remembered than those in the middle.
