Example 1:

During a performance review, a manager might give more weight to an employee's recent performance (good or bad) compared to their performance earlier in the review period.

Example 2:

In a performance review period, a manager might give more weight to an employee's performance in the last few weeks leading up to the review, compared to their performance earlier in the year.
