Reactive devaluation

Description

A cognitive bias that occurs when a proposal is devalued if it appears to originate from an antagonist.

Example 1:

During union negotiations, management might immediately dismiss a proposal from the union, even if it's objectively reasonable, simply because of its source.

Example 2:

A union's reasonable proposal might be dismissed or viewed suspiciously by management simply because it comes from the union, and vice-versa.
