Description

The tendency to have an excessive optimism towards an invention or innovation's usefulness and a disregard for its limitations and weaknesses.

Example 1:

A company invests heavily in a new, unproven technology, believing it will revolutionize their industry, while underestimating implementation challenges and potential downsides.

Example 2:

A company might invest heavily in a new, hyped technology (e.g., a specific AI platform) assuming it will solve numerous problems, without a thorough needs analysis or consideration of integration challenges.
