Description

An age-related trend that favors positive over negative stimuli in cognitive processing. Older adults tend to recall more positive than negative information.

Example 1:

An older, experienced executive might focus more on past successes and positive future outlooks during strategic planning, potentially downplaying risks compared to younger colleagues.

Example 2:

An older, experienced executive might focus more on the positive aspects of a risky venture and downplay potential downsides, compared to a younger analyst who might be more critical of the risks.
