Need To Act Fast

To act, we must be confident we can make an impact and feel what we do is important

Forer effect

Description

(Also Barnum effect) The observation that individuals will give high accuracy ratings to descriptions of their personality that supposedly are tailored specifically for them, but are in fact vague and general enough to apply to a wide range of people.

Example 1:

Employees might readily accept generic feedback from a personality test used in a corporate workshop as highly accurate and specific to them, even if the descriptions are broadly applicable.

Example 2:

Employees might readily accept vague positive feedback from a new management assessment tool if it seems personalized, even if the statements are generic and could apply to anyone.
