Fading affect bias

Description

A psychological phenomenon in which information regarding negative emotions tends to be forgotten more quickly than that regarding positive emotions.

Example 1:

Over time, an employee might remember a challenging project more positively, with the frustrations fading faster than the sense of accomplishment, potentially leading them to volunteer for similar projects again.

Example 2:

When reviewing a past project, team members might remember the positive achievements more vividly and forget the intensity of the stress or conflicts experienced, potentially leading to unrealistic optimism for future similar projects.
