Conservatism

Description

The tendency to revise one's belief insufficiently when presented with new evidence.

Example 1:

A company is slow to adapt to new market trends, under-reacting to clear data indicating a shift in consumer preferences because it conflicts with long-held beliefs about their customer base.

Example 2:

A company that has historically succeeded with a particular business model may be slow to adapt to new market trends or disruptive technologies, clinging to outdated beliefs despite evidence of shifting consumer preferences.
