Appeal to novelty

Description

A fallacy in which one prematurely claims that an idea or proposal is correct or superior, exclusively because it is new and modern.

Example 1:

A company adopts a brand new, untested software platform simply because it's "the latest thing," assuming it must be better than their existing, proven systems, without proper evaluation.

Example 2:

A company might adopt a new software platform simply because it's the latest on the market, assuming it's better than their existing, proven system, without thorough evaluation of its actual benefits or suitability.
