The Bandwagon effect is the tendency for an individual to shape their beliefs and behaviors on the basis of those around them. This is often seen in the adoption of fads, trendy ideas, style of dress and so on.
The bandwagon effect tends to occur due to the human tendency to conform to social norms, and to be accepted into a group. As others join the bandwagon, it tends to create a stronger pull to bring others in.
